    Position Summary Information

    Job Summary/Basic Function

    These positions will work with campus partners to set-up venues and spaces for major events, work in special assignments, move equipment or furniture across campus, and provide general work support for campus operations.

     

    Crew members will be assigned to report to various program coordinators, event planners, and operational groups requesting support for large set-ups, commencements, sporting events, special events, office moves, and general operational campus needs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Current Lamar University Staff Employee

    + Ability to work Monday–Friday, 5pm–11pm, and weekends (outside of primary job responsibilities)

    + Primary supervisor’s approval

    Special Instructions

    Essential Job Functions:

    + Large events support: set-up, moving, cleaning, organizing.

    + Moving furniture, equipment, and set-up across campus.

    + Office moving, set-up, assembly, and organization.

    + Ushering, directing, and general work support for campus operations.

    Physical Requirements:

    Able to lift 50 lbs and able to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.

    Job Conditions:

    Indoor and outdoor work, exposure to weather, some strenuous manual work.
