Essential functions (job duties):
Job Purpose
The Marketing Project Manager oversees, optimizes and manages marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet their objectives in alignment with the university’s communications and marketing plan, and are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. This role involves developing detailed project plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams inside University Communications and Marketing and beyond, and tracking project performance using appropriate metrics and tools. The Marketing Project Manager serves as the lead communications and marketing contact for campus partners, responsible for integrating marketing activities and support within the office.
Essential Functions
Develop detailed project plans, including creative briefs, scope, timelines, budgets, approvals, and resource allocation, to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives. Champions actionable results, alignment, and accountability to achieve marketing goals.
Communicates and meets regularly with assigned divisions, schools and colleges, or other entities to ensure awareness and alignment of in-progress and upcoming communications and marketing priorities, gather feedback, obtain approvals and adjust work as needed to stay on track.
Track industry trends, prepare market and targeting assessments and monitor university initiatives to inform marketing and partner engagement strategies. Brings creative solutions to bear on marketing challenges and opportunities.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including creative, social media, web, public relations and others to ensure project components are progressing as planned.
Coordinates student engagement in communications and marketing activities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Financial Accountability: Monitors expenditures.
Customer Accountability: Interfaces with customers outside the S/C/D.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience
Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Deep understanding of marketing strategies, channels, branding, customer behavior, creative brief development, budgeting and content creation.
Proven project management skills, efficiently managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely project delivery.
Proficient in project management tools.
Build strong relationships with university partners and guide the creation and implementation of an integrated marketing and communications plan.
Strong problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to influence and lead across all organizational levels.
Outstanding organization and attention to detail.
Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during project execution.
