    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Survey Crew Chief** to lead a survey team in conducting accurate and efficient land surveys. This position is based out of our Dublin, OH office. The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for overseeing field operations, managing team members, and ensuring the quality and precision of survey data. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of surveying techniques, be comfortable working outdoors, and have the ability to collaborate with project managers and clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Planning and Coordination:

    + Collaborate with project managers to understand survey requirements and objectives

    + Plan, prepare, and organize survey field projects, including the allocation of resources and equipment

    Team Management:

    + Lead and supervise a survey crew, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient and accurate survey operations

    + Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of survey team members.

    + Foster a positive and collaborative team environment

    Field Surveying:

    + Conduct field surveys using various surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors, drones, and 3D scanners

    + Ensure that surveys are conducted in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and legal requirements

    + Oversee the collection of accurate field data and measurements

    Quality Control:

    + Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data

    + Review and analyze survey data to identify and resolve discrepancies

    Equipment Maintenance:

    + Maintain and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment

    + Coordinate with the equipment manager to ensure that all surveying tools are in good working condition

    Client Interaction:

    + Communicate with clients to understand their surveying needs and address any concerns or issues

    + Provide regular updates on project progress and ensure client satisfaction

    Safety Compliance:

    + Enforce and adhere to safety protocols during field surveys to prevent accidents and injuries

    + Promote a culture of safety within the survey team

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field; Higher education preferred

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying with at least 1 of those years in project management

    + Proficient in the use of surveying instruments and software

    + Capable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environment

    + Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without an accommodation, sometimes over substantial distances

    + Must have a valid driver’s license

    + Drone license is preferred
