Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of fixed assets, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). You will work independently and collaboratively to maintain a comprehensive fixed asset system, ensuring proper recordkeeping and depreciation calculations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
+ Manage the entire fixed asset lifecycle, from acquisition and capitalization to disposal.
+ Maintain accurate and detailed fixed asset records, including asset descriptions, locations, acquisition costs, and accumulated depreciation.
+ Perform physical inventories of fixed assets and reconcile them to the general ledger.
+ Calculate and record depreciation expense for all fixed assets in accordance with GAAP .
+ Prepare and analyze fixed asset reports, including depreciation schedules and asset listings.
+ Assist with the closing process by ensuring all fixed asset accounts are reconciled and accurate.
+ Research and stay current on accounting standards and regulations related to fixed assets.
+ Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls for fixed assets.
+ Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Facilities, IT) to ensure accurate asset information.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
+ Proven experience with fixed asset software (e.g., SAP , Oracle).
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
+ Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) license is a plus.
