Description Sr. Payroll and Benefits Professional
• Primary POC for all things related to Payroll and Benefits
• Multi-state payroll experience
• Integrate benefits data with payroll, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with benefits
• Open enrollment, responsible for system file feeds and the testing
• Primary contact with vendors
• Reconcile benefit deductions and contributions
• Cross-check payroll records against internal systems and promptly resolve discrepancies.
• Provide support as a backup to the Payroll Specialist
• Ensure accuracy in tax withholding, deductions, and garnishments.
• Review and verify payroll reports, including quarterly and yearly submissions (e.g., W-2, 1099, and tax filings).
• Conduct payroll audits to ensure calculations are accurate.
• Stay informed on payroll and labor compliance laws, implementing necessary changes in systems and workflows.
• Process Improvement Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
• Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now for managing payroll
• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Must have skills in auditing related to payroll and benefits
• Extensive experience in automated payroll systems
• Familiarity with benefits administration
• Experience in managing multi-state payroll
• Proficiency in using Workday for HR and payroll management
• Detailed knowledge of payroll taxes at federal, state, and local levels
• Certified Payroll Professional
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or Human Resources highly preferred
