    A Research Associate position is available at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Akrit Sodhi, Department of Ophthalmology. This position is intended for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology or a related field and extensive experience with animal models for ocular disease. Our laboratory examines the role of Hypoxia-Inducible Factors (HIFs) and HIF-regulated genes in ocular neovascular diseases (e.g., diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions, age-related macular degeneration).

     

    Expertise in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology techniques, signal transduction, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, microscopy, angiogenesis assays and manipulation of experimental animals, including models of ocular disease, are essential. Experience with RNA sequencing, including single cell RNA sequencing, is highly desirable. Candidate should work independently and be skillful in oral and written research communication. Salary is commensurate with experience.

     

    Salary: 63,000 - 120,000
