    Summary

    As a member of Information Technology, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for data reporting. Primary responsibilities include writing reports, dashboards, creating data sets, executing test plans and creating reporting documentation.     Responsibilities

    • Create, design and execute dashboards/data visualizations and operational reporting using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL Developer

    • Plan, create and support self-service data tools

    • Document reporting specifications

    • Prepare and execute test plans

    • Review/understand university processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements

    • Provide occasional support outside of regular business operating hours including evenings and weekends.

    • Maintain university data dictionary

    • Prioritize work in line with institutional expectations

    • Work independently and as part of a team

    • Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives

    • Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work

    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Education, Certifications, Licensures

    • Bachelor’s degree in business/data analytics, computer science, management information systems or technically related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

    Required Experience

    • Demonstrated professional experience using a query based reporting tool to create reports and dashboards (e.g. WebFOCUS or Tableau)

    • Demonstrated professional experience and understanding of complex table joins and database query languages

    Desirable Education and/or Experience

    • Experience in an academic environment

    • Experience using Oracle, Ellucian Banner, and/or Information Builders WebFOCUS

    • Experience with data governance

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, processes, and complex situations to determine a best course of action using problem solving and analytical skills

    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and objectives

    • Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy, precision, and attention to detail

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff

    • Experience working on projects in a project management environment ● Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons from diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a fair, objective, welcoming place to work for persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints.
