Description
Specific Responsibilities :
+ Leadership:
+ Recruit, coach, train, develop, and evaluate leadership team members. Advise direct reports in the selection of high potential employee owners and then subsequent coaching.
+ Provide leadership that is consistent and lead by example with the guidance of the company’s mission and vision statement while dealing with effective conflict resolution.
+ Represent WCM in the Northeast Wisconsin market by participating in industry groups and community service organizations.
+ Identify and recommend to the Broadcast Director long-term objectives to best put WCM in a competitive position of strength in the market.
+ Management:
+ Work with the Business Manager to oversee the development and implementation of the annual budget budget, action plans, proposed list of goals, projects and all expenditures to help maintain or improve the competitive position of the stations and achieve or exceed net contributions.
+ Oversight of credit and collection policies.
+ Monitor station operations to assure that FCC rules and regulations and industry guidelines are being observed.
+ Monitor security, safety, construction and maintenance of plant and technical facilities along with the engineering team.
+ Act as final respondent to public complaints and comments regarding stations.
+ Work with the General Sales Manager, Brand Managers, Marketing/Promotions Director and Digital Director to develop a marketing plan for all radio stations; positioning the properties to best maximize their share of market in a specific audience demographic or customer base and thereby increase WCM’s revenue share.
+ Great Game of Business (GGOB):
+ Establishes and supports the GGOB framework and processes highly engaged employee owners to help run the business and achieve personal success through financial literacy, financial scoreboards, weekly huddles, mini-games, high involvement planning, and having a stake in the outcome.
+ Lead by example and maintain an employee-owned corporate culture that provides for an ethical approach with customers (advertisers, clients, listeners, etc.), employee owners, and all others in WCM’s business dealings.
+ Growth
+ Encourage new product idea generation through collaboration and education across all departments
+ Consistently analyze growth areas in WCM’s industries and markets
+ Other duties as assigned

Knowledge : College degree in marketing, business administration and/or communications or equivalent. Ten years of experience in commercial radio broadcasting, at least four of which include supervisory and administrative experience (which would include personnel and budgeting responsibilities). Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations, industry standards and guidelines. A broad and in-depth working knowledge of the relationship among sales, engineering, programming, news and digital platforms. A record of continuing education in the industry through participation in workshops, seminars and other educational opportunities.
