    What are we looking for?

     

    We are looking to add aClinical Trainerto our team u nder the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and the Director for Quality and Compliance. The Clinical Trainer works collaboratively with state directors, program leaders, and other staff to ensure clinical and non-clinical training compliance for all personnel. The Clinical Trainer acts as the primary contact for SJCS training operations; leading new employee training, coordinating training for new hires, maintaining employee training records, and ensuring a smooth transition from interview to orientation. The Clinical Trainer ensures that all staff receive all necessary training required by DDS and State regulators before initial deployment and remain updated on mandatory training requirements post-deployment; assists with strategic health initiatives and coordinates training activities that enhance operational efficiency. Initial scope of support covers DC and Virginia, with the expectation of future expansion into other states as determined by the agency.

    Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:

    + Assure adherence to the organization's mission, core values, guiding principles, business standards, and administrative practices.

    + Serves as the primary agency trainer for all new employee training to include clinical and non-clinical training sessions.

    + Performs ongoing assessment to address clinical training gaps and knowledge retention and provides additional education to address needs.

    + Create new employee orientation training schedules for employees, tracks and generates reports on training outcomes, and maintains employee training records.

    + Educate new employees on all policies and procedures using the most effective training methods for varying skill levels.

    + Attend seminars and meetings (as funding allows) to learn new programmatic and clinical training methods and techniques, applying this knowledge in future training sessions.

    + Recruit and train new employee trainers, delegate clinical training tasks, and evaluate performance with expansion of the program.

    + Inform employees and their supervisors of scheduled training and monitor their progress.

    + Recommend clinical training materials and methods, maintain in-house training equipment and facilities, and manage the clinical training budget.

    + Collaborate with the State Directors and Compliance team to ensure compliance with clinical and non-clinical training requirements as outlined by the DC DDS, VA DBHDDS and other State agency regulations.

    + Document initial orientation training information in employee training files and establish dates for all mandatory training for new staff. Communicate those dates to the new staff and their supervisor in writing and record those dates in the staff training database. Records completion dates for all training completed by new staff.

    + Maintain knowledge of licensing requirements, certification requirements, and clinical training requirements for each state.

    + Perform spot audits on all training documentation to validate employee understanding and compliance related to the clinical training delivered.

    + Maintain knowledge of people supported and general operating procedures in all SJCS programs.

    + Participate in professional development activities relevant to the Clinical Trainer position.

    + Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    The hiring range for this position ranges from $90,000 to $92,000 and is dependent on location and experience.

    Qualifications

    You will catch our eye if you have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    + Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

    + Minimum of three years of clinical education/training experience.

    + Must meet current requirements for criminal background/records check and drug screening.

    + Obtain certification for relevant areas such as TME, MAT, MANDT trainer and/or CPR/First Aid trainer.

    + Ability to lead, guide, direct, and oversee training operations

    + Excellent time management, public speaking, problem-solving, and communication skills

    + Knowledge of state training requirements, regulations, and service delivery

    + Proficient in verbal and written communication

    + Ability to handle multiple assignments and analyze clinical data effectively.

    + Exceptional organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills

    Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:

    + Certification of relevant areas such as TME, MAT, MANDT trainer and/or CPR/First Aid trainer

    + Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Therap, MCIS, Connect)

    All SJCS employees must:

    + Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.

    + Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

    Physical and environmental conditions include:

    + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    + Proficient keyboard use.

    + Speaking on the phone or in virtual meetings for extended periods.

    + Ability to work alone or as part of a team.

    + Travel up to 50-65%.
