Job Summary
Provides tactical management control of, and responsibility for an academic unit, including the functions of planning, directing, staffing, budgeting and making day-to-day business operating decisions.
Candidates with limited experience may be considered for the Administrative Officer position, but our priority is to get qualified and experienced candidates for the Administrative Manager role in the school.
Responsibilities
+ Handles the administrative matters of day-to-day operations and procedures, and events of the department and its associated programs
+ Assists with the development of department budgets and schedules
+ Maintains and monitoring accounts, budgets, and expenditures of the department
+ Processes and implements human resource management tasks for departmental faculty, staff, and students
+ Handles payroll for the department
+ Collects, organizes, and analyzes data for specialized reports (e.g., accreditation)
+ Monitors students’ academic progression and graduation, and maintains student and alumni records
+ Coordinates purchasing activities, document control, and account coding for financial transactions and oversees the maintenance of departmental records
+ Provides administrative support to the department chair and the program directors
+ Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required.
Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
+ Experience with the management of student records, scheduling.
+ Proficiency in document creation and archiving.
+ Experience with RPT processes.
+ Knowledge of University systems, including CLSS , PeopleSoft, UShop, Concur, eForms, KRONOS , Interfolio, etc.
