Job Description:

*Highland Hospital is seeking a Full Time Overnight Cross Cover APP (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join its growing Internal Medicine Team. Candidates for this role will work a Sunday - Tuesday and Wednesday - Friday rotations (a month of each shift @ a time before switching over). Candidates for this role will qualify for higher premiums for scheduled overnights.

Some details include but are not limited to:

Complete history and physical exams on assigned admissions including medication reconciliation, complete all orders including appropriate labs and diagnostic testing, medications, therapy evaluations, medications etc. Consult appropriate services needed during the hospital stay for any acute issues identified on admission. Discuss and collaborate with attending MD on plan of care. Admit to the hospitalist/geriatrician, Highland family medicine, Culver medical group including the complex care center, Wilmot cancer center, and chronic vent services.

Reassessment of the patients as needed. Performs necessary data collection and stabilization of the patient. Present for stroke codes as well as medical codes on all patients assigned to the APP. Provide sign-out at the end of shift to the night cross cover APPs to include anticipatory guidance. End of assignment and assign appropriate covering provider prior to leaving at the end of shift.

Available on secure chat and by pager for any issues that may arise after admission of assigned patients including recommendations from consultants

Salary Range:

$98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements:

1. **Education** : Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.

2. **Experience:** 1 year experience preferred

3. **License/Certification Required** : Valid NYS license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. BLS/ACLS certified.

4. **Skills:** Epic EMR trained. Proficiency in central venous and arterial access. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional behavior and commitment to quality care; ability to work autonomously; excellent interpersonal skills.
