    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Network Communications Engineer (Hardware)** OR a **Principal Network Communications Engineer (Hardware)** to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization.

     

    This candidate will be responsible for integrating and testing software and hardware systems in complex IT systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    + Developing engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.

    + Collaborating with engineers to install, troubleshoot, and redline documented procedures.

    + Working closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment.

    + Authoring and maintaining technical installation, configuration, and update documentation.

    + Using excellent planning, coordination, and documentation skills to ensure cohesiveness across the team.

    **The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility** **.** There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. This position requires the ability to travel up to **25%** of the time.

     

    _This position can be filled at either the Network Communications Engineer (Hardware) level or the Principal Network Communications Engineer (Hardware) level, depending upon the qualifications below._

    Basic Qualifications for Network Communications Engineer (Hardware):

    + Bachelor of Science Degree and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree with 0 years of related engineering experience. (Four (4) additional years of relevant engineering experience will suffice in lieu of degree.)

    + Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.

    + Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux based tools

    + Experience deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices

    + Familiar with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS)

    + **Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.**

    + Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

    + Bachelor of Science Degree and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree with 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD with 0 years of related engineering experience. (Four (4) additional years of relevant engineering experience will suffice in lieu of degree.)

    + Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.

    + Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux based tools

    + Experience deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices

    + Familiar with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS)

    Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

    + Current Special Program Access

    + Experience with network information & event management systems (ISE, Solarwinds, LibreNMS)

    + Experience with software defined networking technologies (NSX)

    + Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, etc.

    + Experience with Kubernetes and Container networking

    + Familiar with Agile methodology

    + Familiar with version control, GIT experience preferred

    + Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

     

    Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00Salary Range 2: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
