Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a **Communications** **Engineer/Principal Communications Engineer** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in **Melbourne, FL.**

This position may be filled by either at the Communications Engineer level OR at the Principal Communications Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) business unit is developing cutting edge technology that seamlessly analyzes, fuses, and distributes multi-domain information into command-and-control systems of systems to support all domains of war.

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ Integration of airborne communications systems and components to enable real-time coordination and reliable communication between ground, air, space and naval forces

+ Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation

+ Design, analyze, configure, test, document and troubleshoot communications systems

+ Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications

+ Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate Line of Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) subsystems to meet platform mission objectives

+ Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support

+ Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements

A successful Communications Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.

Basic Qualifications:

Communications Engineer (T02):

+ Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

+ Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

+ Familiarity with electromagnetics in the RF spectrum

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Communications Engineer (T03):

+ Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

+ Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

+ Familiarity with electromagnetics in the RF spectrum

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Familiarity with Line-of-Sight and Beyond-Line-of-Sight Communications technology

+ Familiarity with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.)

+ An active Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
