    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategic:

    + Accountable to Chief, VP, and Foundation Board for business development, strategic planning, and innovation in patient care, customer service, and business efficiency

    + Assists in establishing and revising departmental policies to maximize efficiency, consistency, and alignment with BCH goals

    + Serves as liaison to BCH Office of Network Development, managing agreements and collaborating with BCH Legal

    + Coordinates philanthropic initiatives with BCH Trust and manages HMS Dean's review every five years

    + Supports new program development, participates in task forces/committees, and leverages support departments to optimize service delivery and workflow

    Governance:

    + Prepares and presents the Annual Meeting, ensuring compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations

    + Reports financial and investment information to the Foundation Board and coordinates with external legal, accounting, and auditing teams

    + Manages insurance, benefits, and tax filings (Forms PC, 990, 5500)

    Research:

    + Collaborates with Chief and all Principal Investigators on research mission and financial oversight of research grants and projects

    + Oversight of the department/foundation grant administration in collaboration with principal investigators

    Educational/Training:

    + Oversees Residency Coordinator of departmental educational programs

    + Primary interface with academic school for effective and timely processing of faculty, fellow and resident/rotator hospital and medical school appointments

    + Under the direction of the Residency Program Director, provides administrative oversight for the residency training programs. Monitors and updates, with the Program Directors, training affiliation agreements with outside institutions. Oversees financial management of training program

    Management:

    + Directly manages staff, including program directors and clinical/administrative support

    + Coordinates recruitment, training, and discipline with HR and ensures adequate staffing

    + Reviews salary and compensation plans with HR

    Fiscal:

    + Oversees Foundation/department assets, budgets, and financial reporting

    + Develops and monitors operating and capital budgets with Chief and BCH leadership

    + Performs financial analyses for business/program development and expense management, ensuring cost containment

    Operational:

    + Manages staff recruitment, retention, performance, and payroll/benefits compliance

    + Oversees departmental projects, quality audits, and compliance with internal, state, and federal standards, including BCH, JCAHO, and CMS initiatives

    + Leads professional staff recruitment and credentialing, coordinates with Physician Organization and marketing

    + Oversees department insurance billing, vendor contracts, and information systems

    + Develops customer service initiatives, resolves complaints, and manages facilities, space allocation, and renovations

    To qualify, you must have:

    + Bachelor's degree, Master’s Degree in Business, Public Health or Health Care Administration preferred

    + 10 years of relevant experience. Lab Medicine experience preferred

    + Strong analytical skills to resolve complex problems using scientific/technical principles and cross-functional knowledge

    + Effective communication skills to address conflicting views, mediate solutions, and demonstrate strong writing abilities

    + Ability to identify and resolve ethical, strategic, and operational issues with innovative solutions based on healthcare industry expertise

    + Skilled in managing employees, negotiating with peer managers, and mediating conflicts to develop fair solutions and motivate others
