    Application Description

    Through the collection and processing of unstructured as well as structured data, Business Intelligence (BI) tools improve productivity and enable our enterprise to make better business decisions each day. Configurable dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and metrics allow organizations to manage patient populations, analyze and benchmark clinical and operational performance, and monitor improvements for key areas of focus. BI tools such as Tableau are expected to connect and cross pollinate data from applications including Epic Systems, Microsoft SQL databases, Oracle Databases, and cloud-based solutions such as AWS, and Snowflake.

    Job Overview:

    The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for the overall success of enterprise data BI analytics solutions, development of dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and metrics across applications. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the management of administrative and operational functions of the Business Intelligence (BI) developer team, creating policies, procedures, and standards for the enterprise as they pertain to dashboards, metadata models, ad hoc reports and database development whenever necessary.     Qualifications:

    Required:

    + Minimum: Bachelor s degree or five (5) years of relevant work experience working with Tableau

    + Minimum: Five (5) years administrating and managing business intelligence tools

    + Minimum: Two (2) years experience managing teams

    + Minimum: Three (3) years of relevant experience in large-scale project management

    + Minimum: Advanced knowledge of SQL and Cloud-based technology with the purpose of mining and manipulating large data sets

    + Superior communication and interpersonal skills, facilitation/training skills, project management capabilities, and leadership orientation

    + Strong assertiveness skills and ability to manage conflict in a variety of situations

    + Superior organizational and people management skills

    + Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff

    + Demonstrated ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams

    Preferred:

    + Education Preferred in one of the following disciplines: Healthcare, Business or Information Sciences

    + Preferred: SSMS, Snowflake

    + Preferred: Experience working with Epic Systems and reporting tools

    Essential Functions:

    1) Strategic Development and Design

     

    + Serving as the institutional application expert in the function and content of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

    + Working cross-functionally with key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff to optimize and develop dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and database applications

    + Proactively evangelizes best practices outlined by leadership to clinical/administrative staff.

    + Demonstrating and teaching leaders to use the best tools and techniques available to analyze their data in ways that maximize revenue, optimize workflow efficiency, and improve clinical care patient and staff experiences

    + Through frequent interaction and communication with clinical/administrative leadership, the Business Intelligence Manager will identify and react to general and specific business problems and challenges, identify solutions, and advocate for the adoption of solutions.

    + Participating in the analysis of the enterprise data and analytic s Current State against a gap analysis of Future State

    + Coordinating and assisting with the creation of a dynamic reporting inventory and reporting project plan

    + Coordinating with Information Technical teams to validate the technical infrastructure for Business Intelligence and Data and Analytics

    + Managing system upgrades

    2) Project Management:

    + Communicating the Business Intelligence project plan, inventory of reports, dashboards, metrics, system and licensing availability

    + Providing day-to-day tracking of team against project and build milestones

    + Accountable for ensuring benefits are reported and measured for their respective team

    + Ensuring quality of final deliverables assigned to the team

    + Participating in change control reviews and change approvals for their respective team

    + Identifying and providing support in resolving issues that may arise, removing road blocks

    + Escalating issues and potential mitigation plans to IT and Operational Project leadership

    3) Project Leadership:

    + Leading vendor relationships for relevant tools (e.g., Tableau)

    + Attend relevant training and vendor user groups to keep abreast of industry trends and technical advances

    + Serving as a liaison between end-users' workflow needs, the Business Intelligence team, and leadership

    + Working with leadership and end-users to ensure that products meet the enterprise s needs with regard to project deliverables and timelines

    + Communicating regularly with other leadership and end-users to resolve issues, conflicts and application integrations

    + Ensuring that appropriate subject-matter experts are involved in design, configuration and testing sessions

    + Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones

    + Gathering, documenting and providing feedback for team lead/member performance

    + Creating a community around Business Intelligence, data and analytics
