Description We are recruiting for the role of Property Accountant in Stillwater, Minnesota. This role involves performing various accounting functions in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process financial transactions and provide approvals within designated limits.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash disbursement accounts.
• Conduct regular audits on contracts, orders, and vouchers, preparing reports to validate each transaction prior to settlement.
• Investigate and correct any discrepancies found in financial entries, documents, and reports.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Provide necessary account information and documentation to outside auditors for the annual audit.
• Prepare and submit tax forms to federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Recommend improvements for accounting operation regarding reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting software systems.
• Comply with GAAP and company procedures, while monitoring the effectiveness of accounting control procedures. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Property Accountant role
• Proficiency in account coding
• Experience with accounting software systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
• Knowledge of AMSI and AppFolio
• Ability to perform all accounting functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understanding of accrual accounting
• Auditing skills
• Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
• Proficient in making accounting entries
• Experience with Yardi and Yardi Property Management
• General accounting skills
• Proficient in handling general ledger
• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation
• Experience in reconciling balance sheet account
• Understanding of GAAP Accounting and US GAAP
• Proficiency in bank account reconciliation
• Ability to calculate profit margin and profit loss
• Experience in creating income statements
• Knowledge of GAAP - STAT
