    Duties Description Duties Description:• Monitors all system consoles and hardware diagnostic displays (console operations).• Schedules and properly configures production batch workloads (production control).• Operates tape drives and robotic devices (tape processing).• Operates print devices that produce the output from various data processing program runs (print processing).• Performs supervisory responsibilities.

For appointment to the SENIOR COMPUTER OPERATOR position you must have: High school or high school equivalency diploma and one year of full-time experience in the operation of large scale/commercial printing equipment, a mainframe or medium to large server, multi-variable print production, or information technology related activities. Competitive Qualifications: You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under Section 56.2, 70.1 and or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer: For 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4 transfer to a Senior Computer Operator, salary grade (SG)-14, you must have one year of permanent competitive, or 55-b/55-c service in an approved title for transfer allocated to an SG-12 or above. Appointments via transfer must not result in second, consecutive transfer with an advancement of more than two S-grades or one M-grade.
