    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner supports the quality of care provided to patients by Department of Nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner promotes relevant professional development opportunities and mentorship for members of the department of nursing at all levels to assist with the achievement of personal and professional goals. The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner will identify outcomes of educational interventions based on input from learners and stakeholders, evidence, regulations and organizational goals.

     

    This role supports both Hampden and Holy Spirit Medical Centers, and the transfer of physical training materials to multiple PSH locations

     

    This position will support Med/Surg

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

    + Masters of Science in Nursing or intent to complete Masters of Science in Nursing within three (3) years of hire

    + Three (3) years of relevant nursing experience

    + Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment required

    + AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

    + Nursing Professional Development Certification or specialty certification

    Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building. In addition to the Hampden Medical Center, this position may be required to work at Holy Spirit Medical Center.
