    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Community Health & Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Manager, Community Health Initiatives. This position does not oversee staff.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Community Health & Engagement Coordinator provides administrative and implementation support for ProMedica’s community health & impact programs. The position utilizes a community engagement and outreach approach to connect with people, build relationships, and enhance health awareness and improvement in the communities ProMedica serves.

     

    As part of the Community Health & Impact team, the coordinator collaborates with community organizations and stakeholders, and internal stakeholders such as clinical service lines, hospitals and outpatient clinics, philanthropy, marketing communications, human resources, and individual employees.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Community Engagement & Outreach:

    Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to foster mutual trust and support.

    Serve as a liaison between ProMedica and the community to ensure alignment of initiatives with community needs and priorities.

    Represent ProMedica at community events, meetings, and public forums to promote organizational values and services.

    Work with staff and partners to cultivate new and maintain current resident participation and leadership in programs, strategies, events, and interventions aligned with community plans.

    Support the execution of ProMedica’s corporate social responsibility and volunteer programs. (Toledo/System Support)

    Assist with engaging and coordinating volunteers for activities and projects and support annual special events recognizing the successes, efforts, and collaborative contributions in the community. (Adrian ENP)

    Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including some community events, workshops, in-person engagements, and other communication opportunities. (Adrian ENP)

    Create and implement targeted outreach strategies to engage diverse communities and raise awareness of ProMedica's programs and service and actively participate in local meetings and events (some evenings and weekends).

    Identify opportunities for community partnerships that align with ProMedica’s mission and community health goals.

    Administrative Functions:

    Perform general administrative duties such as completing vendor packet processing, processing invoice payments, and preparing materials.

    Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure outreach efforts align with organizational objectives and messaging. Assist with internal and external communications, including email correspondence, newsletters, and event invitations. (Toledo/System Support)

    Coordinate the development of messaging and communications for social media pages regarding opportunities for residents, stakeholders, and partners to participate in events, programming, and outreach. (Adrian ENP)

    Maintain accurate documentation and records of outreach activities, events, and relationships.

    Data Management & Reporting:

    Collect, analyze, and maintain data related to community outreach activities and engagement efforts.

    Track the effectiveness of community programs and events, providing regular reports and feedback to leadership.

    Utilize data to refine strategies and improve outreach efforts based on community feedback and engagement metrics.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: High School Diploma

    Skills: Creates innovative outreach strategies to connect with a diversity of people and overcome challenges to promoting health improvement. Exhibits an understanding of the social drivers of health and health equity trends and practices. Displays a strong attention to detail, proficiency in data management and reporting tools, and the ability to analyze data to improve. Displays curiosity, a strong desire for learning, openness to differences, empathy, and effective listening. Communicates effectively and builds trusting relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders in neighborhoods and organizations. Addresses concerns or conflict with tact and diplomacy. Works independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

     

    Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community engagement & outreach, public relations, or health and human services.

    Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience.

     

    Skills: Knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience working with nonprofit, public health, and government systems.
