**Job Location** : Remote, Must reside in CFL area to be available to go onsite as needed
The role you will contribute:
The Payroll Accounting & Tax Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of payroll accounting and tax professionals in a shared services environment. Responsible for daily staffing and operations related to the accurate and timely processing, analysis, filing and reporting of transactions related to payroll tax. The Payroll Accounting Supervisor actively participates in outstanding customer service, resolves escalated issues, facility requests and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

+ • Directly responsible for supervising the Payroll Accountants and Payroll Tax Accountants which includes providing guidance, troubleshooting support and issue escalation.
+ Responsible for ensuring all general accounting tasks are completed accurately and timely by staff.
+ Reviews complex and significant journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations including researching and proposing resolution to outstanding variances
+ Ensures staff meets all tax and regulatory filing deadlines, research tax notices and tax laws
+ Assists with year-end tasks with W2 processing and printing
+ Oversees all tax returns, payments and business registrations completed by staff to ensure accuracy and minimize tax obligations of the organization
+ Partners with iSynergy Support for review of Tax Updates, release notes and testing
+ Utilizes independent judgement when providing guidance and support to staff for issue resolution, training, and coaching.
+ Encourages the staff to engage in continuous improvement processes within Finance Shared Services.
+ Responsible for documenting and implementing new process improvement ideas to create efficiency.
+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends and regulations in payroll tax, attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
+ Engages staff participation in team building activities, assists manager with leading out meetings.
+ Assists Manager with new acquisition due diligence and preparation for go-live
+ Responsible for developing training material for new staff
+ Available outside of normal business hours for support needs.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
+ Serves as back up to the Lead as well as Manager.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or 5 years related experience
• 5 Accounting and multi-state payroll tax experience
• 2 supervisory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Federal, State and Local payroll tax regulatory requirements
• Ability to handle many tasks and projects at one time
• Analytical and organizational abilities
• Proficient working independently, unsupervised and under stress
• Proficiency in PeopleSoft
• Knowledge in Blackline
• General accounting principles and procedures
• Advanced analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA Preferred
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) Preferred
• Experience in a finance shared services or healthcare organization Preferred
