    Summary:

    The Central Investigations team is dedicated to keeping users of the Meta technologies safe. We pride ourselves in helping prevent harm by applying subject matter expertise to identify and mitigate potential safety-related threats to keep Meta and its users more secure. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most meaningful, high-visibility risks the company faces and have a substantial impact.We are seeking an investigator with experience in understanding and mitigating issues around organized criminal groups and other violent groups and harms. In addition to having a demonstrated investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has experience with NORAM-specific problems, issues, and threat landscape, and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will have the capacity to assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company.

    Required Skills:

    Security Associate Responsibilities:

    1. Investigate issues around organized criminal group activities, and other violent groups/harms, and how they impact Meta Platforms, Inc., our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to utilize our family of apps and services

    2. Investigate complex cases and conduct substantive analysis of potential threats that may manifest on Meta technologies

    3. Independently manage multiple analyses at once while effectively prioritizing time

    4. Identify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm

    5. Work cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering, and Integrity partners

    6. Gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuse

    7. Work independently under high-pressure situations and make sound decisions with little supervision

    8. Work with graphic and sensitive content on a regular basis

    Minimum Qualifications:

    9. Bachelor's degree

    10. 8+ years of professional experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains

    11. Experience working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and/or adult content

    12. Experience and inclination to protect highly confidential information

    13. Available for after-hours and weekend work

    14. Maintain effective communication skills

    15. Fluent in Spanish

    16. Investigative or analytical experience related to organized crime and adjacent harms

    17. Subject matter knowledge on organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and online research tools

    18. Analytical and investigative skills combined with the capacity to quickly assess large amounts of data in order to detect critical and credible information

    19. Knowledge of data tools such as SQL, Python, or other data analytics programming coding languages and data visualization tools

    20. Experience conducting open source investigations and/or investigations on behalf of a technology company

    Public Compensation:

    $111,000/year to $163,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
