At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people! CoreCivic is currently seeking a **Meal Break Supervisor** who has a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting.
The Meal Break Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and evaluating compliance with facility policy requirements for employee meal periods and rest breaks.
+ Analyzes data from multiple sources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and trends related to policy compliance, and makes recommendations for process or training adjustments and improvements.
+ On a daily basis collects and reviews electronic data and hardcopy forms related to meal periods and rest breaks, and investigates any reported missed rest breaks and/or missed, late, or shortened meal periods in order to determine the cause for such occurrences.
+ On a daily basis approves payment of any penalties pursuant to policy and communicates with appropriate facility personnel to ensure timely payment of penalties.
+ Communicates and collaborates with officers, Supervisors and Managers, Human Resources Manager, Master Scheduler, and others as necessary to develop and improve processes to ensure appropriate coverage and appropriate scheduling necessary to ensure compliance with meal period and rest break requirements.
+ Supervises assigned staff in the performance of their duties and evaluates as prescribed by the facility and company policy. This includes, but is not limited to, training new employees, evaluating performance and preparing written performance appraisals, listening to concerns and effectively resolving disputes or issues, taking corrective or disciplinary action, developing work schedules for subordinates, monitoring work assignments, and approving leave requests.
+ Reads and comprehends complex legal and policy guidance regarding meal period and rest break laws and regulations.
+ Monitors changes to laws related to meal periods and rest breaks and evaluates impacts to related processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
+ Graduate from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Logistics, Business Administration, Criminal Justice or a related field is required.
+ Two years of human resources experience or two years' experience in a supervisory position responsible for oversight of meal period and rest break compliance is required.
+ Additional related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
+ Must have strong time management, organizational, communication and presentation skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software applications is required.
+ Experience with an HRIS, Kronos, or other timekeeping systems is preferred.
+ A valid driver’s license is required.
+ Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
