Our client, a leading organization in the housing assistance sector, is seeking a Housing Assistance Representative to join their team. As a Housing Assistance Representative, you will be part of the Housing Assistance Department supporting various teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a passion for helping others, which will align successfully in the organization.

**Job Title:** Housing Assistance Representative

**Location:** Oakland, CA

**Pay Range:** $28.69 per hour

What's the Job?

+ Conduct housing unit inspections in the field and ensure compliance with housing quality standards.

+ Counsel tenants and landlords on program responsibilities and rights, resolving disputes as necessary.

+ Compile and review rental data for the City of Oakland, negotiating HAP contracts and monitoring rent comparability.

+ Identify barriers to Leased Housing programs and conduct outreach to property owners and developers.

+ Determine initial eligibility for applicants and verify income and household composition.

What's Needed?

+ Bachelor’s degree in business/public administration or related field; or completion of 24 general education college semester units AND two years of relevant experience.

+ Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record.

+ Knowledge of HUD Section 8 Program and related policies.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).

+ Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal.
