Software Engineering Manager
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and guide engineering teams toward successful project delivery and innovation initiatives. You will serve as the link between technical execution and strategic decision-making, ensuring that all projects align with the organization's product and business objectives. With your wealth of experience, you will create and maintain an environment of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will play a servant leader role, ensuring your team members are empowered, protected from obstacles, and supported in their professional development. You will also promote a positive, team-centric, and supportive culture, encouraging open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect among team members.
Primary Duties
+ Team Leadership: Guide engineering teams to achieve their goals and align with product and business priorities.
+ Project Delivery: Ensure engineering projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
+ Resource Allocation: Provide teams with the necessary personnel, tools, and support to execute tasks efficiently.
+ Career Development: Mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Design, and Operations to align engineering efforts with business strategies.
+ Process Improvement: Continuously improve engineering processes to meet evolving business needs.
+ Planning: Lead planning sessions to manage team capacity and task estimates.
+ Initiative Management: Maintain a healthy backlog of strategic engineering initiatives that align with organizational priorities.
+ Service Management: Support IT initiatives by enabling lower-tier teams with tools and knowledge for efficient service management.
+ Security: Ensure engineering compliance with security standards and data protection policies.
+ Technology Training: Keeping the teams and programs relevant and updated with the current technology stack.
+ Performance Management: Monitor and provide feedback on team and individual performance.
Qualifications
Skills:
+ Expertise in database technologies (Azure SQL, SQL Server, NoSQL, and Snowflake databases)
+ Expertise in ETL creation & maintenance
+ Expertise in Azure Services (Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, Cost Management, and Release Pipelines)
+ Expertise in the following technologies: JavaScript (React), Typescript, Kotlin, Java, Springboot, and Docker
+ Experience in Azure DevOps (Backlog Management, Scrum Administration)
+ Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
+ Solid grasp of modern software development practices (CI/CD frameworks, Agile methodologies, etc.)
+ Exceptional people, skills, including mentoring, scaling teams, and leading through uncertainty
+ Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience:
+ 2+ years of experience in Azure managing software engineers in Agile teams
+ 3+ years of experience shipping and supporting high-scale, high-performance data technologies in a cloud environment
+ 5+ years of development-related experience in data technology platforms
+ Experience with data quality and performance testing
+ Experience in service design or offline/retail design is a plus
+ Project management experience a plus
Education and Certifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required
+ 4-year degree or work experience in a related field preferred
+ Professional Accreditation expectations: dependent on role

Compensation: $120,000-155,000 plus yearly bonus objectives
