Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant - Controller in the healthcare industry based in Newport Beach, California. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing operational accounting functions, producing accurate financial reports, and managing the closing process.
Responsibilities:
• Manage operational accounting functions including aspects like payroll, cash management, physician compensation, and account reconciliation.
• Deliver accurate and insightful financial information to executives in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with external accounting firms to compile quarterly financials, provide data to tax preparers, and implement tax management plans.
• Identify training needs and oversee training programs.
• Maintain a system of accounting policies and procedures; implement internal controls over accounting transactions to mitigate risk.
• Ensure production of periodic financial reports for all affiliated entities complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Recommend benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the company's performance.
• Develop the annual budget and forecasts, and communicate any significant variations from the budget.
• Work with external auditors, providing necessary information for the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Oversee upgrades to the general ledger system configuration and user testing.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is a must for this role.
• Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation is needed.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required.
• Familiarity with General Ledger is essential.
• Ability to handle Journal Entries is crucial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Experience with Month End Close tasks is necessary.
• Knowledge of NetSuite software is needed.
• Familiarity with Oracle software is required.
• Proficiency in SAP software is critical.
