    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Brooklyn, NY)


    Description

    We are in the process of recruiting a Controller to join our Client, A high growth Food & Beverage startup, in Brooklyn. The Controller will be integral to the team, focusing on the management of accounting functions, implementation of process improvements, and maintaining financial services.

     

    + Manage annual financial statement audit process with external auditors.

    + Oversee preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

    + Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

    + Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.

    + Own the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

    + Manage general ledger integrity and oversee all reconciliations.

    + Ensure proper revenue recognition policies, including wholesale and e-commerce transactions.

    + Optimize accounting workflows and automate processes where possible.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.

    + 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

    + Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience managing financial audits.

    + Experience leading treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and bank relations.

    + Expertise in multi-state sales tax compliance and tax reporting requirements.

    + Strong proficiency with NetSuite or other ERP systems.

    + Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
