Robert Half Finance and Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a national commercial real estate client for a newly created Accountant Manager position! As Accountant Manager you will be responsible for a portfolio of commercial properties handling the day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, monthly financial statements, variance analysis, annual budget, forecasts and financial reports and managing and monitoring the daily activities of assigned accounting staff and ensuring that all policies and procedures are consistently and accurately followed for the assigned properties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily functions of the accounting staff, ensuring consistent adherence to policies and procedures.

• Conduct regular reviews of financial reports and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

• Collaborate with property management and clients to meet all reporting deadlines.

• Provide leadership and training in the utilization of real estate accounting software.

• Direct and manage detail-oriented staff, with a thorough understanding of each staff member's responsibilities.

• Participate in the hiring, training, and mentoring process of new staff members.

• Review and approve new vendors, as well as changes to existing vendors.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly accounting calendars to ensure deadlines and owner requirements are met.

• Provide oversight in maintaining, reviewing, and filing of all required accounts.

• Collaborate in the preparation of the annual budget and review the final version prepared by the property manager.

• Assist in the management of new project takeovers, coordinating the transition with accountants, clients, property management, and Treasury.

Interested candidates must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance at least 5+ years of progressive full-cycle commercial real estate experience, be proficient with MRI and or Yardi and Excel, have managerial experience, and CAM reconciliations and straight-line rent experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within commercial real estate

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems - ideally MRI and Yardi

• Comprehensive understanding and experience of Accounting Functions

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• CAM Reconciliations and Straight-Line Rent Calculations

• Possession of a University Degree in a relevant field

• Demonstrated ability in executing Month End Close procedures

• Experience in conducting Month-end Close Activities and Month-end Journal Entries

• Ability to perform Monthly Account Reconciliation, Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Monthly Bank Reconciliation

• Skills to Analyze Financial Statements, create Consolidated Financial Statements and Prepare Financial Statements

• Experience in Budgeting and Budgeting - Forecasting procedures

• Proficiency in Variance Analysis

• Knowledge and experience in using MRI software for financial management and analysis.
