Description

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is in search of an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Agriculture sector, based in Tulare, CA. As an Accounting Manager, you will ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions and manage the general ledger. You will also be responsible for overseeing the entire financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, and managing accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate financial classification through the supervision of debits and credits processing

• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurate

• Manage financial reporting, including the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports

• Oversee the processes for month-end and year-end closing, including reconciliations

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial and accounting controls

• Support the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Assist with financial planning through budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting

• Collaborate closely with external auditors, tax professionals, and internal stakeholders

• Lead and mentor the accounting staff, promoting a culture of accuracy and efficiency

• Oversee bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager in the Agriculture industry.

• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Demonstrable experience with month-end/year-end close processes.

• Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to create and manage financial models.

• Experience in preparing financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.

• Knowledgeable in general ledger functions and during month and year-end close process.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.

• Ability to handle high levels of confidentiality.

• Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed.
