Summary
Test and evaluate warranty field returns in an effort to expedite warranty claim closure. Coordinate and compile failure analysis data from internal/external suppliers in order to identify failure trends. Provide support to other Aftermarket Support Representatives and the Warranty Parts Processor.
Responsibilities
+ Test and evaluate parts and components to determine validity of a claim submitted by company branch location, dealer, or customer.
+ Record failures in warranty claim.
+ Assign “common trend” fault codes in software system to failed components.
+ Create new fault codes for new failure conditions and new components.
+ Collaborate with other departments to determine failure modes and trends.
+ Interpret failure analysis data with internal personnel and respond to inquiries from our dealer/branch network.
+ Follow up with supplier in regard to warranty returns, evaluations and failures on purchased components and participate in weekly/monthly meetings with suppliers.
+ Pro-active efforts to improve our testing ability by building new test equipment and/or upgrading existing equipment.
+ Gather, organize, and update job documentation and reference materials.
+ Provide backup support for the Warranty Parts Processor and occasionally review claims for the Warranty Manager as needed.
Minimum Requirements
+ 5-7 years related experience
+ Associate degree (Electronics, Mechanics)
_Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED_
+ Occasional travel (0-5%)
+ Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
+ Job requires employee to drive a lift truck
+ Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
Preferred Requirements
+ Two year degree with a concentration in electronics and/or mechanics preferably.
+ Good knowledge in a variety of software applications.
+ Good organizational skills and be able to prioritize time efficiently.
