    RiverTech, LLC is looking for a Security Specialist to support our customer at the Joint Staff Security Office South (JSSO–S) Suffolk Complex Visitor Center. This position supports the client by managing incoming and outgoing visit requests for personnel visiting the Joint Staff and external agencies. Processes visit requests and enters information in the visitor security database. Provides guidance on security policy and procedures; and directing customers to other Joint Staff or other external agency offices, as necessary.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide customer support, support includes but is not limited to greeting in-person customers; answering phone calls; providing guidance on security policy and procedures; and directing customers to other Joint Staff or other external agency offices, as necessary.

    + Ensures visiting personnel are issued visitor badges and are advised of the responsibilities and categories of badge types and security requirements during their visit.

    + Prepare forms, draft correspondences and update information systems and databases used for facilitating and documenting visit requests to the JSSO-Suffolk location.

    + Utilize the Defense Information Security System (DISS) to review visit requests and validate visitor clearances.

    + Liaison to internal and external agencies to resolve access eligibility issues when a visitor does not appear to have the requisite clearance and access to support a classified visit and administrative staff is unable to resolve an access issue.

    + Investigates, prepares, and submits security incident reports as necessary.

    + Participates in the review and development of security education programs and standard operating procedures involving visitor procedures.

    + Investigates, prepares, and submits incident reports as required.

    + Provides technical and physical support for high security areas, security equipment, and security systems.

    + Investigates security violations and recommends corrective actions.

    + Maintains liaison with outside agencies. Maintains access control and surveillance of the facility.

    Qualifications

    + Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

    + Minimum of 6 years directly relevant experience to the job responsibilities of this position.

    + Working knowledge of U.S. Government Security Programs such as Defense Information Security System (DISS) and programs related to visitor control.

    + Ability to review, analyze, and resolve complex issues as a visitor control specialist.

    + Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
