Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

     

    What are we looking for?

     

    The Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager is responsible for the overall management of a profit center including: planning growth, profitability, cost control, employee development, quality control and client relations within Geotechnical Department.

    What you’ll do:

    + Conduct client management, develop business and penetrate market segments through services

    + Lead employees to achieve optimal quality, safety and productivity

    + Provide training and guidance to employees related to their job duties

    + Enforce company policies and procedures

    + Manage recruitment, hiring and onboarding process for geotechnical department

    + Monitor progress toward Geotechnical department goals

    + Perform project management related duties, including preparing and reviewing geotechnical reports

    + Develop and foster strong client relationships by attending industry events, communicating effectively with client and project teams and attend client meetings

    + Perform a variety of assignments that include independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures and criteria, using engineering judgment to make minor adoptions and modifications during the course of work

    + Make decisions and recommendations in reference to test report results, project field circumstances and inspections

    + Assigns work /tasks to staff as applicable

    + May perform on-site observations

    Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from accredited engineering/ABET school

    + 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical consulting and management

    + 2 years’ experience in managing drilling, laboratory and engineering scope

    + EIT

    + Ability to work off shift and overtime as necessary

    Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering

    + PE or GE License
