Position: User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) Intern
Report to: Product Manager
Job Description Overview
Kwest Group is looking for an energetic, motivated User Interface/ User Experience (UI/UX) Intern in our Perrysburg office. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to design user-friendly digital experiences and improve our software applications' usability and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about user-centered design, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to real-world projects.

This internship will be full-time during the summer of 2025. If an extension of the internship is offered into the fall, you can discuss the details with the hiring manager toward the end of the summer.
What will you do?
+ Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
+ Develop user personas to represent different types of users.
+ Perform usability testing to gather feedback and improve designs.
+ Analyze user interactions and behaviors using feedback and analytics.
+ Sketch wireframes and develop low-fidelity mockups.
+ Design aesthetically pleasing and intuitive UI layouts.
+ Build interactive prototypes to simulate final products.
+ Ensure designs align with branding guidelines and accessibility best practices.
+ Work closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
+ Assist in creating and maintaining design systems and UI components.
+ Document design decisions and user research findings for future reference.
+ Write clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for existing software, including user guides, API documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
What do you need to be successful?
+ Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, or a related field, is preferred.
+ Understanding of UI/UX design principles and user-centered design.
+ Basic proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
+ Familiarity with wireframing and prototyping techniques.
+ Some experience with HTML & CSS to understand frontend feasibility is preferred.
+ Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) is preferred.
+ Exposure to usability testing tools and methods is preferred.
+ Basic familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) is preferred.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and rationale.
+ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
+ Frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
+ Regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the team member may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
+ Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
+ The team member must be able to differentiate and / or identify colors.
+ Must have knowledge of occupational hazards in construction field and standard safety practices. Must be able to pass the 30 Hour OSHA testing and First Aid/CPR requirements before starting work.
+ Must complete and meet requirements under the physical demands of this job description through a pre-employment physical examination.
