The Opportunity and Job Description
+ Participate in the K-12 performing arts center program and curriculum planning.
+ Select developmentally appropriate, yet challenging, music and materials for assigned courses and annual performances.
+ Design, teach, and assess a modern music curriculum that honors student-led experiences while sequencing instruction that is relevant and appropriate for 'rock band' type musicians.
+ Provide accommodations as needed/ required to support academic success for a diverse group of students including both striving and advanced learners.
+ Incorporate effective and innovative uses of technology to support teaching, learning, and collaboration in a 1:1 learning environment.
+ Administer and analyze formative assessments to monitor student progress and plan instructional shifts to increase achievement and success for all students.
+ Program and prepare students for competitions, extracurricular, and/or community performances.
+ Lead and supervise rehearsals for special programs.
+ Communicate effectively with administrators, parents, and teaching colleagues regarding scheduling, rehearsals, upcoming performances, and students’ academic progress.
+ Manage equipment in the performing arts facility in coordination with other members of the performing arts faculty.

Expected Salary:
Commensurate with education & experience.
Minimum Requirements:
+ A Master’s degree; candidates with Bachelor’s degree will be considered, but will be required to obtain a Master’s degree within three years of hire.
+ Florida teaching certification
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated commitment to diversity and effective strategies for motivating and teaching students with differing abilities from a variety of backgrounds
+ FDLE Background check
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of K-12 teaching experience
