SECTION I:

BASIC FUNCTION:

+ Acquire quality radiographs and perform fluoroscopy for diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic purposes.

SECTION II:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):

+ Graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program.

+ ARRT certification required.

+ New York State license required (temporary permit for new graduates valid for 6 months).

+ New graduates will receive a temporary permit that is valid for 6 months or until they successfully pass the ARRT Radiology boards.

+ If a new graduate fails to pass the ARRT Radiology boards, they will have 10 days to work, at which time their temporary permit will be rescinded. They will not be able to work as a Radiologic Technologist until successful completion of passing the ARRT Radiology boards

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability to push/pull, lift/move 35 lbs.

+ Perform manual tasks like typing and filing.

+ Mobility to be stationary or mobile for extended periods.

+ Comprehend and communicate in English.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

+ Problem-solving and troubleshooting.

+ Work independently in diagnostic radiology, including OR and with portable x-ray machinery.

+ Perform medical assistant duties as needed.

+ Operate all radiographic equipment.

+ Track, scan, verify studies, and complete paperwork.

+ Prep patients, take histories, explain procedures, and position patients correctly.

+ Use shielding for patient and staff safety.

Departmental and Institutional Requirements :

+ Stay updated on policies and protocols.

+ Rotate room and shift assignments as needed.

+ Follow Ellis Medicine Behaviors and Standards.

+ Maintain cleanliness and stock department during downtime.

+ Per Diem staff must follow specific policies and maintain required hours.

+ Mentor and teach radiologic technology students.

Salary Range: $31.50-45.89/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
