Position: Manager Gift Shop
Department: Gift Shop
Shift: 7:30AM-4:00PM
Status: Full-time/ 80 hours per pay period
Facility: Miami Valley Hospital
Responsible for managing the daily operational success of two distinct retail storefronts on the Miami Valley Hospital and Miami Valley Hospital South campuses. Has direct oversight for the purchasing, strategic marketing, inventory control, merchandise mix, staff management, customer service, visual merchandising, and financial success of this comprehensive retail system as well as ensuring a positive and profitable shopping experience for the customer. Responsible for all point-of-sale reports and receipts with the Retail Pro system. Troubleshoots and works with IT. Oversees inventory control, receiving and merchandising of entire inventory. Daily balancing of receipts and monthly reports. Provides training for all staff and volunteers on the Retail Pro system. Accurately manages annual inventory count of both shops.
Leads and motivates a team of staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality presentation of store merchandise to maintain appeal and maximize sales. Models a positive customer service spirit to staff and volunteers by building relationships with patrons, listening, and taking a solutions-oriented approach to issues.
Education
**Minimum Level of Education Required:** Associate degree OR
Equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Additional requirements:
**Type of degree** : Business Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or closely related field or equal experience.
Experience
**Minimum Level of Experience Required:** 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
**Prior job title or occupational experience:** Prior management experience.
**Preferred** **experience:** Knowledge of the retail market, buying/purchasing preferred.

Possesses outstanding interpersonal capabilities and tested negotiation skills that combine to build lasting and supportive relationships with vendors and sales representatives
Effectively utilizes sound merchandising, marketing, and financial methods to provide services to patients, visitors, and staff to maximize sales potential. Skillful at establishing and meeting sales targets, managing stock levels, and analyzing market trends.
