Atlantic Health System is seeking an Activities Assistant to join the Atlantic Adult Day Center.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Initiates socialization among day care members through programs and activities.

2. Designs programs for members based on the special needs and information provided by health providers, family, and guardians while maintaining member confidentiality.

3. Assists with day care upkeep and maintenance of food quality standards.

4. Attends training sessions and workshops within members care space.

5. Documents and organizes patient forms, receipts, checklists and other paperwork to ensure smooth management of the day care.

6. Ensures security within the facility and applies safety measures and standards as appropriate.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

+ Work with ADC team to ensure safety of clients, at all times.

+ Interact with clients in a professional and positive manner.

+ Treat clients with respect, kindness, patience; helping to maintain clients' dignity.

+ Assist clients who are unsteady with walking.

+ Able lift up to 25 pounds.

+ Provide hands-on assistance for clients, including personal care as needed.

+ Participate in leading activities/program at request of Lead Activities Assistant.

+ Participate in organization and coordination of activities/projects at request of Lead Activities Assistant.

+ Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm, orderly flow of dining experience for clients.

+ Set up program rooms for recreation activities.

+ Communicate with member’s responsible party as needed and directed.

+ Promote ADC in the community whenever possible.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

1. 1 year of food service experience in a health care facility.

2. Experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or Adult Day Care experience or relevant area.

3. CNA or HHA certification preferred.
