    Responsibilities

    Perform electroneurodiagnostic testing.

     

    + Perform set up and preparation of equipment/supplies for ordered test.

    + Review patient's history, obtain any necessary information or documentation and provide education to patient about procedures.

    + Monitor and document patient's condition at all times and report any adverse reactions.

    + Operate and maintain a variety of equipment to obtain diagnostic data, which may include EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potential), and PSG (Polysomnography) equipment.

    + Recognize and correct for artifacts.

    + Score/graph, document and report results of diagnostic procedures.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing &Accreditation (ABRET) preferred.

    + Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the American Board of Registration ofElectroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists preferred.

    Education:

    + High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

     

    Additional Preferences

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    + Certification: Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) preferred.

    + Experience: Prior medical experience strongly preferred.

    + Independence: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

    + Technical Skills: Ability to perform pediatric and neonatal EEGs proficiently.

    + Availability: Must be available for PRN, weekend shifts, and on-call duties.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Neurodiagnostic Testing: Conduct EEGs, including pediatric and neonatal studies, ensuring accurate recordings and patient comfort.

    + Patient Interaction: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and address concerns with professionalism and empathy.

    + Clerical Duties: Maintain accurate patient records, complete necessary paperwork, and ensure proper documentation of procedures.

    + Charting & Reporting: Record test results and collaborate with physicians to support diagnostic accuracy.

    + Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functionality of EEG equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate service needs.

    + Compliance & Safety: Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and neurodiagnostic protocols to maintain high standards of patient care.
