Feedmill Operator

Full Time Hourly

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $19.13 - $29.78 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.

Purpose of Position

Safely and efficiently operate Feed Mill equipment to receive ingredients and to manufacture quality feed to Company specifications in a timely manner. Help fellow employees with safety, productivity, housekeeping, and fixing small mechanical issues that arise.

Working Conditions

Operate batching, grinding, mixing, crumbling and pelleting machinery, maintain proper amps, temp, oil levels, and quality. Be able to climb ladders and up to bin tops.

Principal Accountabilities

+ Operate all computer equipment, graphics and automation within main control area.

+ Develop a working knowledge of equipment operated so they can assist in maintenance of some equipment.

+ Be proficient in receiving and / or batching operations

+ Train co-workers and new employees

+ Be familiar with production scheduling and receiving

+ Maintain quality of feed made and loaded out

+ Perform warehousing as needed or directed

+ Perform housekeeping to ensure clean and safe plant operation

+ Must have ability to work within a dusty environment and lift 50 pounds.

+ Be able to read, write and communicate in the English Language

Preferred Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Basic computer knowledge

+ Previous pelleting experience
