    JOB GOAL:

    Working knowledge of the proper method of serving foods and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances; working knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Keeps abreast of rules and regulations in regard to food service and assures district compliance.

    + Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares the cafeteria serving counter.

    + Helps to prepare vegetables and meats;

    + Makes sandwiches, desserts, and salads;

    + Serves food from steam tables in cafeteria-type dining hall;

    + Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.

    + Responsible for point of sale cashier duties including maintaining a balanced register with proper accounting procedures.

    + Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, chairs, serving tables, furnishings in the dining area, and other equipment;

    + Washes and dries dishes;

    + Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.

    + Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.

    + Completes other tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director

    + Assists with inventory and putting away stock orders.
