Salary: $23.50/hour minimum Per Teamsters Contract

Report Times: 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Daily Hours: 4.5 (7 Paid)

Minimum Requirements:

Possession of a valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing (RN) license or valid New York State Licensed Professional Nursing (LPN) license.

Desired Qualifications:

Working knowledge of practical nursing techniques;

Ability to work with elementary, middle and/or high school students, staff and parents;

Strong interpersonal skills;

Good judgment;

Ability to accurately record and report health/medical information;

Ability to understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions;

Must have the ability to travel;

Daily attendance is expected.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Performs medical and/or emergency treatments of injuries and illness of students and staff as required; Dispenses medications as needed;

May attend to physical needs such as toileting, feeding, and lifting;

Assists the School RN with daily triage of students with chronic and minor health concerns and communicates health concerns to parents as needed;

Maintains an awareness of student status recognizing and reporting adverse signs; Communicates and collaborates with members of the health Assumes responsibility for an assigned office in the absence of the school nurse, under the direction of the District Medical Director;

Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary committees as assigned;

Maintains professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences;

Records information on student health records, accident reports and sports eligibility forms;

Assists with inventory of supplies;

Extra hours may be required;

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
