SUMMARY
The Inpatient Manager is responsible and accountable for overseeing the daily operations of the inpatient unit including Respiratory Therapy and Case Management to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. The role involves managing nursing, certified nursing assistants and respiratory therapists ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, coordinating patient care teams, addressing patient concerns, improving operational workflow, facilitating effective communication among interdisciplinary teams and contributing to the overall performance of the department. The Inpatient Manager also works closely with the CNO, hospitalist team and departmental leaders to implement hospital-wide policies and strategic goals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)
+ Supervise, mentor, and manage nursing, respiratory therapy and clinical staff on the inpatient unit.
+ Monitor and oversee daily operational activities, including patient admissions, discharges, and transfers analyzing patient flow and bed management to optimize hospital capacity.
+ Responsible for ensuring effective and adequate staffing levels, managing labor productivity, and appropriately adjusting team member schedules to meet the needs of the Inpatient and RT Departments.
+ Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient care, discharge planning, and any concerns.
+ Serve as a liaison between inpatient staff, leadership, and other healthcare providers.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
+ Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
+ Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
+ Current BLS and ACLS.
+ Knowledge of Medical and Surgical services.
+ Minimum of 5 years of inpatient clinical experience, with leadership and staff management.
+ Charge nurse experience or willing to train as a primary charge nurse within first 6 months.

+ Competent in the use of complex equipment used in the Inpatient Department.
+ Effective Team Dynamic skills including problem solving and conflict resolution.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with prevalent professional demeanor.
+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
+ Supports and drives goals of the organization.
