    This position is responsible for completing patient registration duties and providing administrative support for assigned area(s). Collects and validates accurate patient demographic and insurance information, verifies authorizations and referrals as required and data enters necessary information into registration system. Informs the patient of estimated liability at the time of service, collects patient liabilities, identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers patients to financial counseling as necessary.

    We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Patient Access Representative to join our Emergency Room team.

     

    This role is essential in supporting our patients and clinical staff during some of the most critical moments in healthcare delivery. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and can work independently with a strong ability to problem-solve on the spot. Working in an Emergency Room setting is not for everyone. The ideal candidate must be able to handle the unique challenges that come with this critical area of patient care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform standard Patient Access Registration functions

    + Check in patients upon arrival to the Emergency Department

    + Collect and verify demographic information and insurance coverage

    + Ensure accurate and timely data entry

    + Provide compassionate, professional service in potentially high-stress or emotionally intense situations

    + May be assigned to work in other areas of the hospital as needed

    Work Environment:

    + Overnight shifts required

    + Must be available to work weekends and holidays

    + Emergency Room setting with unpredictable patient volumes

    + Fast-paced and emotionally intense; must be comfortable handling trauma, injuries and strong odors

    + Strong sense of dependability and professionalism

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet

    + Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations

    + Emotional resilience and a calm demeanor in uncomfortable situations

    Shift:

    Night Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America)

     

    Overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays required

     

    Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
