    Some field based instructors will observe students, so some travel will be required. Classes are conducted at various times throughout the day and evening.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    _In addition to these requirements, the following qualifications are also desirable:_

    + Experience teaching and/or working in a higher education institution

    + Demonstrated ability to teach effectively

    + Use of strong and positive communication skills within a professional setting, exhibit disposition for technology use, collaboration, and school-based initiatives

    + Administrative experience at the campus, district, or IHE level, and a commitment to earning a terminal degree at Texas Tech (if not already earned)

    The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education at Texas Tech University is seeking a dynamic educator to serve as a full-time face-to-face lecturer in the innovative Tech Teach program. Tech Teach, is a district-based, undergraduate teacher preparation program designed to serve as a “talent pipeline” for partner districts. The program is clinically intensive, competency-based, and focused on measurably improving student achievement. Tech Teach will focus on the preparation and certification of undergraduate teacher candidates for inclusive teaching in K-12 classrooms.

    Faculty Qualifications:

    _Successful applicants for this position will have these qualifications and qualities:_

    + Master's degree in Education related field

    + Record of 3 years of successful teaching as the teacher of record in public schools

    + Current or recent state teaching certifications. (Texas preferred)
