    Job Summary

    The Camp and On-Site Program Manager is responsible for developing, planning, implementing and managing high quality and engaging outdoor programming including summer resident camp and year-round outdoor programs for girls in grades K-12. The manager ensures that program development and implementation support the council’s program plan and strategic business goals, maintains strict adherence to safety and security guidelines, promotes the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and outcomes, and links to national program curricula. The Camp and On-Site Program Manager works in a variety of settings and is expected to live at camp for up to 9 weeks during the summer.

     

    This is a safety sensitive position.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in recreation, outdoor leadership, environmental studies, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Three years or more of previous experience working with small and large groups of children, preferably in a leadership role such as cabin leader, after-school program leader, teacher, etc.

    • Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment.

    • Working knowledge of customer relationship management systems, data management software, and social networking.

    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

    • Ability to maintain strict adherence to safety and security guidelines.

    • Ability to obtain within the first 180 days of hire the following certifications: American Camp Association New Director Orientation, and Youth Mental Health First Aider.

    • Ability to obtain ACA membership and Accreditation Visitor status within one year.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) products.
