Position Summary

OrthoNY has an open position for an MRI Coordinator. The MRI Coordinator accurately and efficiently ensures that all requirements have been met for an MRI procedure to take place.

Responsibilities

+ Greets patients promptly in a pleasant manner, obtains required information, documents and signatures;

+ Contacts other imaging centers to set up appointments for our patients and/or provides support to outside vendors;

+ Contacts patients to confirm their test appointment as well as ensures a follow-up appointment has been made

+ Performs check-out process, collects patient payments, including co-pays and any past due balances, post any cash collected into practice management system and issues receipt;

+ Schedules follow-up appointments and testing as provider directs:

+ Posts charges from encounter form in accordance with correct coding guidelines, using CPT, HCPCS and ICD 9 coding formats;

+ Performs accounts receivable work, balances and closes journal each day;

+ Other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent required;

+ Minimum of 1-year experience in a medical setting; 3 years preferred;

+ Excellent communication and customer service skills;

+ Must be familiar with medical terminology;

+ Strong data entry skills.

Other Information

+ Ability to travel to various OrthoNY locations if needed. Reliable transportation is essential
