    Job Summary:

    The Bergen County Psychiatric Emergency Screening Program "262-HELP", a program of Care Plus NJ, is seeking to hire motivated full-time and part-time Psychiatric Emergency Support Specialists. If you are interested ingaining training and supervisionin assisting individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and working within a multidisciplinary team, consider this exciting job opportunity. 262-HELP is a 24/7 program operated out of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center with the purpose of providing on-site and off-site, emergency mental health services in Bergen County.

     

    Various schedules are available including afternoons, evenings, and overnights. All schedules include one weekend shift, and all FT/PT positions are union positions. Starting at 53K

    What You Will Do:

    + Answer 24-hour crisis hotline and telephonic triage

    + Supportive crisis intervention counseling, consultation and risk assessment

    + Collaborate with local law enforcement, community mental health providers, and medical professionals.

    + Refer and link clients in need of mental health and community resource information.

    + Provide psycho-education and advocacy.

    + Complete all legal and program documentation within agency/department guidelines.

    What We Need to See:

    To succeed in this position the candidate must embrace learning in a fast- paced environment by integrating regular feedback during a comprehensive training period and ongoing in supervision. In addition, the candidate must possess:

     

    + Master's Degree in a mental health related field OR

    + Bachelor's Degree in a mental health related field plus 2 years of experience in a mental health setting

    + Valid driver's license and insurable under Agency's automobile insurance policy

    + Possess excellent computer skills
