Caterpillar Inc. seeks Software Engineer at its facility located at 501 SW Jefferson Ave., Peoria, IL 61630. Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital platform. Contribute to the design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and applications. Work across functional lines with individuals assigned in new program development and/or maintenance of existing mobile, web, cloud, server, personal computer, and/or distributed computing systems. Perform programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision. Normally assigned more complex aspects of systems work. Work directly on complex application and technical problem identification and resolution on complex systems and infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features. Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team and communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 5 Years of experience in designing and developing software applications in Python and/or Java or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 3 Years of experience in designing and developing software applications in Python and/or Java or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have 3 years of employment experience with: (1) Performing design, development, and testing of software systems; (2) Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, go cd, or azure devops; (3) Performing object-oriented programming; and (4) Participating in full development lifecycle using Agile methodologies. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.

Summary Pay Range:

$132,101.00 - $155,400.00
