Admissions Coordinator- Silberman School of Social Work
POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management or Designee, the Admissions Coordinator at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College is responsible for the integrity & efficient processing of student applications and all documents relevant to the admissions process.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview duties include but are not limited to:
+ Process online applications using the Apply Yourself system
+ Respond to email, telephone & in-person inquiries regarding the SSW program in a timely manner.
+ Collaborate with internal & external administrative & academic departments to ensure the processing of documents for the completion of a students’ application.
+ Assist with the notification process for students who have been accepted.
+ Process incoming students in CUNYFirst who have confirmed acceptance.
+ Update student information in CUNYFirst including name changes and other pertinent information.
+ Enter enrollment data and prepare statistical reports & spreadsheets for the Director of Enrollment Management or Designee.
+ Collaborate & correspond with the Graduate Admission Office on readmissions & permission letters for non-matriculated applicants’ issues.
+ Coordinate and plan work activities with other departments at Silberman SSW as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in Higher Education particularly admissions, enrollment, recruitment or other Student affairs units, strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of graduate level social work admissions requirements
+ Experience processing on-line applications using systems such as Apply Yourself
+ Experience utilizing PeopleSoft systems like CUNYFirst
+ Demonstrated ability to keep accurate and up-to date data
+ Excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced

Coordinates efforts of admissions and/or enrollment offices.
- Coordinates workshops, intake screenings, interviews and orientations for new students
- Counsels prospective applicants on requirements and standards and provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, e-mail or letter; conducts follow up as needed
- Assists in conducting open house sessions and orientations, including group sessions and programs at high schools and in the community at large
- Assists with day-to-day administration and an admissions or enrollment office, including scheduling and preparing and distributing materials
- Represents the Admission Office to the college's internal and external communities as directed
- Maintains and updates program databases, lists and files to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $44,411 - $75,131, salary commensurate with education and experience.
