Laboratory Assistant-Textiles

We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our Textiles Team at our Research Triangle Park facility. This role is fully onsite and requires employees to be in office Monday-Friday.
The Laboratory Assistant will help with sample prep and preconditioning of PPE samples. Assist with testing for Garments and Garment Components.
+ Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
+ Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
+ Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
+ Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
+ As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.
+ Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
+ Records and explains test results.
+ Reads and interprets results of tests.
+ Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
+ Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
+ Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
+ As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.
+ Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
+ Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
+ Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.
+ Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
+ Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
+ Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
+ Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
+ Performs other duties as directed.
+ Higher Secondary Education. Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
+ Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
+ Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
