_Northwest HealthCare_ , six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

Contracted services providing assistance to the Surgeon in the Operating Room. Part of the Surgical team the Surgical Assistant has accepted responsibilities to work as a team member in the operating room.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Acts as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. Performs selected technical duties in an expanded perioperative role under the direction of the surgeon.

Responsibilities

+ Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.

+ Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.

+ Functions as a member of the surgical team and contribute to the overall efficiency of the perioperative department.

+ Participates in professional development and life-long learning.

Minimum Requirements

Education

+ High School Diploma or GED

Experience

+ <2 years

Licenses & Certifications

+ CERT SURG TECH FIRST ASSIST

+ Surgical Technician

Preferred Requirements

Education

+ Associate's Degree

Experience

+ 2-5 years
